Voting Information

Polls will be held to elect 83 Members of the Legislative Assembly and 4 Senate Nominees. Polls will be open from 9 am to 8 pm.

Electors whose names are not on the List of Electors may have them added to the Lists, beginning October 30. Revisions will be taken in the Office of the Returning Officer during office hours, and will conclude on Saturday, November 13 at 4 pm.

Provincial General Election Candidate Nomination Papers may be filed with the Returing Officer during office hours, beginning immediately and concluding at 2 pm on November 8, 2004.

Senate Nominee Election Candidate Nomination Papers may be filed with the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (Suite 100, 11510 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, T5G 2Y5), from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm weekdays, beginning immediately and concluding at 2 pm on November 8, 2004.

Special Ballots: available from the Returning Officer throughout the election period for electors who will be unable to vote during theAdvance Poll or on Polling Day because of:
• physical incapacity
• absence from the electoral division
• imprisonment for ten days or less, or for non-payment of fines
• election officer duties, away from his or her own polling place
• candidate, official agent or scrutineer responsibilities, away from
his or her own polling place
• residency in a remote area

Announcement of the Official Results: December 2 at 2:00 pm at the Office of the Returning Officer. Office hours: 9 am to 6 pm weekdays; noon to 4 pm Saturday. (Closed holiday November 11,
2004)

Announcement of the Senate Nominee Election Official Count: December 2 at 2:00 pm at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

All Advance Polls, Polling Places and the Offices of the Returning Officers offer level access.
